(More customer reviews)I've been using the Q-Mark MUH35 for quite a few years, to heat my 322 Sq.Ft. small garage and workshop, which is well insulated and uses well insulated cedar faced carriage doors (real ones that swing out) along with a ceiling fan to move the air. It easily keeps the garage at 70 F degrees when it is 2F outside during the winter, using its 3300 watt setting. The 5000 watt setting has been used during times of extreme cold and high winds. The thermostat is a bit too generous in terms of its lowest setting not being low enough. However, I now control the power to the heater with a high capacity Intermatic Timer switch, which turns the heater on at various times. Great for pre-warming the garage when I am doing winter projects. This heater has been a very good product.

(More customer reviews)I live in Texas and have a 520 sq ft garage with ceiling/walls insulated, 1 car garage door not insulated and 3 windows.I checked around for code requirements in our area and wired the 240 v/30 amp electrical myself. Mounted the unit hanging down from the ceiling, turned it on and in 2 hours it already had the upper half of the garage up to 60f degrees when 35f outside.Let it run overnight and the garage was 75f next morning....low to mid 30s outside. Thermostat on the unit turns off the fan and heater coils once chosen temperature is reached.Shipper had issues getting the unit shipped... stated waiting for manufacture to ship.Per Amazon's recommendation, I had to send a followup e-mail to shipper to get status of shipment.After that, the shipper sent status mails until the unit had a shipping tracking number.If you need this unit, order early.Took 2 weeks to arrive from the day I ordered it.For our needs ... great price, compact unit and heats as expected.

(More customer reviews)I haven't seen the electric bill yet so I'm giving this heater 5 stars.I had previously bought one of the propane Reddy Heaters (RLP50VA see my review on that) to heat my garage but that heater was completely unsuitable for that task.This one is perfect, it heats up the garage quickly and is quiet and clean.It is a 240v heater and requires a hardwired installation so is a little bit of a pain but I wired everything up and had an electrician friend come check out my work before I turned it on and all was OK.Needed a 30A dual pole circuit breaker and 10/2 wire along with a junction box and flexible connecting cable but it was worth the effort!My garage is a garage under (standard Colonial) 26x22 so the ceiling is insulated but nothing else is.Living in NH, a heated garage for working on the cars is pretty much a necessity and I would recommend this heater highly.

(More customer reviews)I purchased this product to heat my 24x24 (7'6" ceiling) garage under my house.During the coldest periods where I live (Western Connecticut) the garage gets down to the low 40s.

After installing the heater and powering it up, in about 10 minutes the chill is gone from the space.After about an hour the space is very comfortable (about 62 degrees - an increase of about 15 degrees from when it was turned on).By the end of the second hour the space warmed to 68 degrees.The built in thermostat turned down to about 3/4 maximum maintains that temperature.

The unit's internal fan is a little bit noisy, but since the unit is intended for a garage/workshop the fan noise is in my opinion not a big deal.

The unit is very well made and easy to install.After installing a 220 Volt 20A single circuit receptacle,I hung the unit in the center of the room from the ceiling about 4 feet from the rear wall of the garage.The bracket that came with the unit is very sturdy and will accommodate several differnt mounting options.

If you had a bigger space or an uninsulated detached garage, a larger unit with more capacity will be needed (5000 watts or more), however for a single car garage or a well insulated two car garage this unit is an excellent value.
