(More customer reviews)This heater is extremely accurate in maintaing the set temp.I have tested it several times against a digital thermometer with memory.With each test, the heater has maintained the set temp. to within .5 degrees, plus or minus of the set temp.These tests have been conducted on 8 hr. time frames.

The remote is very easy to use & is an impt. upgrade, because it allows you to place the sensing device @ any location in the room away from the heater.This gives a much more accurate temp. throughout the room.

The air circulation ability of the vornado heaters is pretty amazing.it really circulates the air throughout the room as advertised.It works slow but effectively.

The heater has been used for probably 48 hrs. of run time.Hopefully, it is durable enough to maintain its current performance over many yrs.

I have two of the vornado VH2 heaters which both failed during the 1st winter of moderate use.I purchased the EH1 heater only after learning that Vornado will pay shipping to return the two VH2 heaters to the factory for free warranty repair & will ship back to me @ no cost.The EH1 also has the free return policy but has a 2 yr. instead of the 1 yr. warranty found on the VH2. Warranty info. that came with the VH2 & EH1 all state that the customer has to pay to ship the product back to the factory and then include $20 for them to ship it back to you.this is basically a worthless warranty and in my call to Vornado, they said that they now pay shipping both ways on all of their heaters.

(More customer reviews)I recently moved into a house that had an exceptional heating system except in the master bedroom (probably due to a large French door).Didn't see the logic in heating the whole empty house just to keep one room warm, I started to look for a suitable heater. Upon some search, Vornado DVH surfaced as a viable option.Although pricier than other models, if it did what it claims to do (even warmth, quietness, safe to kids' touch, and good control) I thought the product would be ideal for my family needs.
While searching for the best price, I came to read the ratings by others on the Amazon site, and it was disturbing for me to see that there was a noticeable disparity among the raters (please look through the reviews and see for yourselves-5 to 1 star).But it sounded great at least for those who had them in working condition, so I decided to give it a try, knowing that there is a chance that I might get the bad apple.
Well, I have been using the unit for a while now and I have to tell you that it is worth MORE than its weight in gold!!! It is quite; temperature control is dead accurate; heating is impressively even throughout the room; and it really doesn't get hot at all to the touch; and even looks cool. I have occasional circuit breaker tripping when I use hair drier in the bathroom connected to the same room, but Vornado has not tripped the circuit not even once, even though I usually have it run at 78F when I use it (basically all night).
I'm sure others' claims on defective products are valid.But if you are unsure whether to give it a try because of those reviews like I was a few weeks ago, I strongly recommend you give this product a try. Even if you end up with a defective product like others claim, if you can get a good one after exchange (and get something like what I got), it is worth the trouble-and believe me I'm an extremely lazy person when it comes to product exchanges...
I only write this review because I wished that I had something like this to help my decision making. Hope it helps you.

(More customer reviews)I did a ton of research and bought a few heaters before this one but I'm most happy with the Vornado.The first two I bought were digital ceramic heaters.I have to recommend against getting a digital heater. Each time you turn it on, you have to push several controls to get back to where you like it, with this heater, you just turn it on. The only thing that kept me from buying it first was cost and the fact that it had no ceramic element which theoretically was a safer element than an electric coil. We use it in a few bedrooms that are not freezing cold but uncomfortably cold. The other great feature is it'll run on lower power and only use as much wattage as is needed to heat the room.My other heaters would run full blast till it hit the desired temperature, then turn off, repeat over and over.The trouble is, heaters will use about as much power as must rooms have available so if you have anything else plugged in, you'll throw the circuit breaker, which happened over and over for me. A 1200w heater (which is common) will use over 10Amps. That's a TON of power.The Vornado will run and heat just fine on a low power setting using about 5A max and less if less is needed.

Here's a summary of what I like:

Pros:
Plastic grill never gets hot to the touch - why do others use metal ?
Only uses the power it needs to - gives your electric panel a rest
Much easier to use than digital heaters - don't buy digital !
Compact and stable on the floor
Well built - many heaters are absolute junk

Cons:
Expensive for a space heater
No ceramic element which MAY mean it could spark easier
When running on high, I noticed a buzzing noise in the fan but not during normal use
