I had my unit start on fire. Called company & they asked which model & after that needed another # on box to show Which manufacturer they used. They said one of the manufacturer had a known problem but they "hoped" people would call in to get fixed. THEY SHOULD RECALL!!I ended up taking back to Target - but what a pain!!BE WEARY!!

+ This heat lamp takes the edge off the chill if it's just a little too cold to sit outside.

The bad:
- The cord is ridiculously short.
- The design is not very elegant. The heat lamp is bulky and awkward.
- You have to sit pretty close to feel any effect.

I was hoping for more, but you basically have to stand within 2 feet to feel anything and it was only 50 degrees outside with no wind. Took it apart and taking it back same day. Will try an LP gas model since that's what's mostly sold out in th e market likely for this reason.

While it's a great idea, it has very, very poor heat radiation.Unless you're sitting immediately underneath it, you'll feel almost no heat, even on the highest setting. Any standard patio table will prove too big for this to be an effective heating mechanism. A big disappointment.

(More customer reviews)First thing is that the cord is only about 3 feet long.They tell you it has a nice long cord but it goes down the tube when you assemble it and there is about 3 feet left over.The area it heats is extremely small and if you want to use this on the patio at night forget about seeing anything outside.It lights the place up like crazy.
