(More customer reviews)I have had this mat in place under my desk at work and running on high for about a month. It works just as I had hoped. No more cold feet! The smell of "hot rubber" was very evident the first week or so. Even now, if I mistakenly leave it on overnight, there is still a very slight odor that is noticeable when I first come in the office in the morning. (The office is approximately 18'x30' with about 13' high ceiling and is kept closed up at night.) Perhaps with another month or two of use, the smell will go away entirely, but even if it does not, it is not a deal breaker for me because it is hardly noticeable any more.

SPT SH-1509 Pedestal Ceramic Heater Review

(More customer reviews)I've been using this tower heater/fan since October and I've had a fairly good experience. It's basically the taller version of the "SPT SH-1508 Tower Ceramic Heater with Ionizer." The SH-1508 was too short for my tall bed and adding an extra foot to the height in the SH-1509 made is ideal. It heats up my mid size room pretty well.

When I first got this product it looked like it was in good condition (the box definitely wasn't though). But it seems that there's a little bit of blurred area on the front inside of the remote control signal receptor. But that area is a black background with a red light covered by the transparent plastic so I can't really tell the blurred plastic cover anymore unless I look closely.

The fan was very quiet when I first got it. I am a very light sleeper and even the smallest sounds can wake me up, and I slept through fine when the heater went off. However, about a couple weeks ago, I noticed that the fan, when especially oscillating, makes a vibrating noise. Pretty unfortunate since it makes the fan noisey now - I might have to take it apart to see if anything came loose.

Besides those two things, I really have no complaints except the shape of the heater itself. It's not symmetrical as I expect most products to be. It's really not a big deal but it might bother the odd ones like myself.

PROS:
- Tall
- Multiple settings: High, Low, Fan (although very week) and Auto (I always use this setting - heater is set to go off when the adjustable temperature is reached)
- Quiet
- Remote control - this is one of the best features
- Neat and clear blue screen
- Space-efficient

CONS:
- Wasn't in 100% prestine condition when I first got it.
- Something came loose and now makes a vibrating noise only after 2 months of use.
- Fan is weak - I can't feel any cool air unless I'm directly in front of it.

Overall, I would recommend that other people who don't want a stubby heater like the SH-1508 should get the SH-1509. It's pretty much the same fan around the same price but taller. If it weren't for the vibrating noise that suddenly happened, I'd give it five stars.

Took about 5 min to warm a 63 degree room to 72!Takes up little space, I put mine in the corner and you don't even know its there. It is also an attractive unit that I don't mind having in any room of the house.The remote controol is a plus also. I Did not think I needed it, but now that I have it, I love that feature also.There is an easy to use timer on the unit also.That is a nice feature so you don't forget to turn it off when you go to work etc.I am thinking about ordering another one as this is such a handy unit.With heating costs this winter it is a money saver to use this electric unit to supplement your heat.

(More customer reviews)The heater pictured is different from one I ordered and recieved. I think I got a newer model, I had the one pictured for several years and it worked fine. The one I recieved does not work on all settings, only low. It worked fine when I first got it and now after a few weeks it does not. I use it in my office and it is quite and would be fine if it worked and didnt shut off on some settings. Not sure if I just dot a defective heater.

(More customer reviews)A little smaller than I had anticipated, this little heater does a nice job.I bought it for a basement tool room we have, which stays very cold in the winter.Turn this baby on and in ten minutes it's comfy in there.The amount of heat emanating from its small front doesn't seem like it will heat a room well, but it does.It's very quiet, you can't tell when it's on, whether it's set on oscillating or not.It oscillates about 90 degrees.

Having small children in the house, I like how you can touch it anywhere during its operation and not get burned.The automatic shut-off feature is also a good thing.There are two settings, low and high (600/1200 watts), and both seem to do the job well.

(More customer reviews)I had a little heater fan from DeLonghi (DFH132), and it was fine but a little weak. I tried out a few heater fans from Honeywell (HFH5555 [worked, but blew a fuse] and HEH8001-U [worked but more fan than heater]) but ended up returning them.

This little heater puts out a good bit of heat. It's sitting behind me right now, in the same spot the heater fan used to occupy, and it puts out much more heat. It's also about twice as loud, but that doesn't bother me. The grille on the front gets hot, but I haven't left my hand on it long enough to see if it will burn me. I can make only so many sacrifices for Amazon reviews...

Quite happy with this item.
