(More customer reviews)I purchased a 25 watt Visi-Therm aquarium heater this week for my 5.5 gallon freshwater tropical aquarium...so far so good.The temperature has maintained where I set it for several days with virtually no fluctuation.The temp scale is printed large and easy to read.The temp adjustment knob at the top is tapered and somewhat tricky to click-turn if you can't get a good grip on it.But once set there's little need to make further adjustments.There's a red LED light that comes on when the unit is heating / the light goes off when the heater cycles off.The bracket has 2 suction cups and securely holds the heater upright and straight.

This brand of aquarium heater came highly recommended by others who wrote online reviews.Amazon and most pet store websites don't carry the 25 watt model, so I bought it on an auction website, total cost $25 included shipping.

(More customer reviews)We purchased this to replace the patio umbrella on our deck table for the cooler fall and winter nights. While it's a great idea, it has very, very poor heat radiation.Unless you're sitting immediately underneath it, you'll feel almost no heat, even on the highest setting. Any standard patio table will prove too big for this to be an effective heating mechanism. A big disappointment.

(More customer reviews)The 1000W version of this product worked great at first, but over time, this particular product line of Soleus Air Micathermic heaters will lose their ability to heat over time.Advertised at 1000 Watts, now, after 1 year, is 478 Watts, and loses wattage each day it's used.This means it's outputting less and less heat.I'm sure that this 1500 Watt version will produce the same results over time.

I submitted a claim to Soleus Air and they have not resolved the problem - they only gave some explanation thinking they were right, but I sent them more details of the problem and they have not responded for over 1 month.Looking up my case number on their site, they consider this case resolved.It is not.

This is product is faulty and you won't get any reimbursements, so be careful, and buy a different brand, or a different heating technology like ceramic.

I will not ever buy a Soleus Air product again - I do not want to support their company in producing poor quality products with poor customer support.

(More customer reviews)I've owned several hot water pumps, and this is the best of them all.

The stainless steel interior allows me to keep hot water in the pot all week long, without the concerns that I would have if it were aluminum, while the stainless steel exterior is easy to keep clean and looks good in my kitchen.

Unlike my previous hot water pumps, this unit brings the water to a full boil before it switches to "keep warm" mode.This provides hotter water than the others did, and the convenient "reboil" button brings the water back to a full boil in just a few minutes.

I also like the three options for dispensing hot water: electrically pumped either via the "dispense" push-button or via the cup pressable switch, or manually via a large pump button on top.

In addition to adding convenience, the two electrically pumped options should also add to the life of this unit.Other units that I owned, that were manual pump only, failed after a year or two because the manual pump gasket wore out.While their manuals warn of this and suggest annual replacement, it was impossible to find a source for replacement gaskets.

This unit, when run electrically, does not use this gasket.So it should last for a very long time.

For those who keep Shabbos, there are additional benefits.The unit is under hechsher and does not need to be toiveled in a mikva. Additionally, the Shabbat switch disables all switches and prevents the unit from entering reboil mode.This allows adding water on Yom Tov, which can not be done with similar hot pots since they switch to reboil mode when even a little cold water is added.

(More customer reviews)I bought this unit to use in a radiant heat system.I was told by the salesman that it was "the most effecient water heater made."I expected (and was promised)that would translate into lower heating bills.

I must say that although the unit has functioned perfectly, it is an INCREDIBLE fuel hog.I burned 500 gllons of propane in 4 months to heat a 1,500 square foot shop to 55 degrees.Now before you start thinking this building must not be insulated properly, I have 30 inches of insulation in the ceiling and 8" walls.The slab is well insulated (2" all around) and the doors are insulated.I used the best windows you can buy.This shop is built way better than most people's home.This is not an insulation problem.

In all fairness, the unit was easy to install, functions flawlessly, but it burns an incredible amount of propane (basically $250 per month at local prices.)I could have put in an $800 gas fireplace and heated the shop another 10 degrees warmer for half the propane cost and saved myself $9,500 on a radiant system.

To say I'm disappointed in the "fuel effeciency" of the Polaris water heater would be a HUGE understatement.
